Course Requirements & Grading Policy

COURSE REQUIREMENTS:
·         Candidates will attend scheduled course meetings and actively participate in class discussions. 
·         Attendance is required.
·         Candidates will use Twitter to develop a presence in the micro-blogging community
·         Candidates will become active participants in the micro-blogging community
·         Candidates will write a reflection statement on how Twitter can be used to as a professional development tool
·         Candidates will write a reflection statement on how Twitter can be integrated into the curriculum to enhance student learning
·         Candidates will use Google Blogger to design and develop a blog
·         Candidates will become active participants in the blogging community
·         Candidates will write a reflection statement on how blogs can be used to as a professional development tool
·         Candidates will write a reflection statement on how blogs can be integrated into the curriculum to enhance student learning
·         Candidates will use Edmodo to develop a presence in the Edmodo social networking community
·         Candidates will become active participants in the Edmodo social networking community
·         Candidates will write a reflection statement on how Edmodo can be used to as a professional development tool
·         Candidates will write a reflection statement on how Edmodo can be integrated into the curriculum to enhance student learning
·         Candidates will use Diigo to develop a presence in the Edmodo social bookmarking community
·         Candidates will become active participants in the Diigo social bookmarking community
·         Candidates will write a reflection statement on how Diigo can be used to as a professional development tool
·         Candidates will write a reflection statement on how Diigo can be integrated into the curriculum to enhance student learning

EVALUATION & GRADING POLICY:
 Participants
grades will be determined in the following manner:
·         Class attendance and participation – 10%
·         Effective development of a Twitter account, active participation in the Twitter community, reflection paper – 20%
·         Effective development of a Blog, active participation in the blogging community, reflection paper – 25%
·         Effective development of an Edmodo account, active participation in the Edmodo community, reflection paper – 25%
·         Effective development of a Diigo account and active participation in the Diigo community, reflection paper – 20%
